Membership and Pricing

Payments and Pricing Terms

  • All fees are due at the time of booking unless a payment plan has been expressly agreed in writing. The studio reserves the right to withhold access to classes where payment is outstanding.

  • Prices are subject to change 30 days' written notice to existing members.

Cancellation & Rescheduling

  • 24-Hour Notice: Cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled class time.

  • Late Cancellations: Requests made within less than 24 hours, or no-shows, will result in the forfeiture of the class credit or a charge for the full session fee.

  • Studio Cancellations: If the studio must cancel a class due to weather or instructor illness, your credit will be fully restored or rescheduled at your convenience.

Membership & Package Terms

  • Class credits and packages must be used within 6 months of purchase date.

  • Credits are non-transferable and may not be shared with third parties.

  • Auto-renewing memberships will renew on the same date of each month unless cancelled in writing at least 7 days before the renewal date.

Refund Policy

  • All purchases are non-refundable except where required by applicable consumer protection law. In the event of a studio closure, a pro-rate refund or credit will be offered at the studio's discretion.

Health and Safety

Liability & Injury Waiver

  • Assumption of Risk: Dancing is a physical activity. By participating, you acknowledge the inherent risks of physical injury and agree to participate at your own risk.

  • Medical Clearance: You confirm that you are in good physical health and have no medical conditions that would prevent you from safely participating in Latin dance.

  • Release of Liability: Boogaloo Dance Studio and its instructors are not responsible for any injuries sustained on the premises or during instruction.

Studio Etiquette & Safety

  • Footwear: To protect our floors and your joints, please bring clean dance, sports, or suede-soled shoes. Please do not wear street shoes used outdoors onto the dance floor.

  • Late Arrivals: For your safety and to avoid disrupting the flow of class, students arriving more than 10 minutes late may be asked to observe rather than participate in the physical portion of the lesson.

  • Partner Rotation: Our classes typically involve rotating partners to enhance the social learning experience. While you may choose to stay with a fixed partner if you attend with one, we encourage rotation to build better leading and following skills.

Health & Communicable Illness

  • Students are asked not to attend class if they are experiencing symptoms of illness, including but not limited to fever, respiratory symptoms, or contagious skin conditinos. The studio reserves the right to ask any student displaying symptoms to leave the premises for the safety of other participants. In such cases, the student's class credit will be fully restored.

Conduct

Code of Conduct

  • Mutual Respect: We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior. Partner dancing relies on mutual consent and respect.

  • Hygiene: As these are close-contact dances (Salsa/Bachata), we kindly ask all students to be mindful of personal hygiene for the comfort of the group.

Day-to-Day Studio Operations

Registration & Enrollment

  • Class sizes are limited and enrollment is confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • The studio reserves the right to place students in appropriate level groups and to move students between levels at the instructor's discretion.

  • Students must be 18 years of age or older to participate without a parent or guardian's written consent. Students under 18 must have a signed parental consent form on file prior to their first class.

Data and Media Policy

Media Release

  • Photos & Video: The studio may occasionally take photos or videos of classes for social media and promotional use. By attending, you grant permission for your likeness to be used. (If you wish to opt-out, please inform the instructor before class begins).

Data Privacy

  • We collect personal information (including name, contact details, and payment information) solely for the purpose of administering your enrollment, processing payments, and communicating about classes and events. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties except as required to process payments or comply with legal obligations. Data is stored securely and retained for 2 years after your last interaction with the studio. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, kindly reach out to us via the contact form.

Other

Amendments to Terms

  • Boogaloo Dance Studio reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Students will be notified of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued participation in classes after that date constitutes acceptances of the updated terms. The current version of these terms will always be available on our website.

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

  • These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to its conflict or law provisions. Any disputes arising from your use of the studio's services that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Baltimore County, Maryland. The parties consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive or equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
